Despite playing a prominent role within Dejan Stankovic’s team, Harry Winks will return to Spurs this summer once his loan spell with Sampdoria ends.
Sun Sport reports the 27 year-old won’t be retained by the Ligurian side even if they manage to avoid relegation due to financial issues amidst their ongoing ownership situation.
After missing the first several months due to injury, Winks quickly won a place in Samp’s starting eleven, playing the full 90 minutes in all but one of his eleven appearances.
Nevertheless, Winks will return in the summer to parent club Spurs, where he will still have a year to go on this contract. Though, a permanent move away from the club is increasingly likely even if a new manager will be in place once he returns.
