After sitting bottom of the Serie A table on 6 points just six rounds ago, Hellas Verona find themselves only two points from safety following tonight’s win over Salernitana.

A late first half strike from Cyril Ngonge extended the Venetian side’s unbeaten run to four in a row and pulled them to within two points of 17th placed Spezia.

“I want to keep scoring and do all I can to help the team,” Ngonge told DAZN at full time.

“This is an important win for all of us. Not just the team but also the club and the supporters, these are three fundamental points. We’re quite happy.”

He joked, “I also have to compliment Lazovic on the assist—I love him more than I do my wife!”
