Hellas Verona appoint ex-Lecce boss Marco Baroni

Hellas Verona have found their new manager after they parted with Marco Zaffaroni following their relegation playoff against Spezia.

The Veneto-based side announced the appointment of former Lecce boss Marco Baroni as the team’s new head coach. The 59 year-old has signed a one-year contract that expires next June but there’s an option to extend the deal for an additional season.

It comes less than two weeks after Lecce surprised everyone and confirmed they parted way with Baroni despite the team’s positive season in which they easily avoided relegation. The club revealed the two sides couldn’t reach an agreement regarding a new contract.
