Hellas Verona president Maurizio Setti met with the squad ahead of this weekend’s league clash versus Sassuolo at the Bentegodi.

According to L’Arena, the 59 year-old attended Thursday’s training session to stress the importance of Saturday afternoon’s fixture in their bid to avoid relegation.

The Venetian side currently occupy the 18th place in the Serie A table, six points from safety behind Spezia, who face a difficult run of games versus Fiorentina then Lazio. Setti reiterated to the team he still believes in salvation but emphasized they can’t afford to make mistakes against the Neroverdi.

Verona have gone winless but nearly two months, their last victory coming on 13 February against Salernitana.
