New Hellas Verona sporting director Sean Sogliano held his first press conference following his return to the club after seven years.
The Venetian side announced Sogliano is back with the club where he spent three years from 2012 until 2015.
Losers of their previous ten matches, the Veneto-based side currently sit bottom of the Serie A table with five points. When asked about the club’s situation, Sogliano conceded he’s eager to find solutions.
“I haven’t slept since I started,” he said.
“We’ve got to try to do something different. It’s an honor and a source of pride that the president (Setti) has entrusted me during this particular moment.”
When asked about potential changes to the team or coaching staff, Sogliano didn’t reveal much.
“I’ll start by chatting with Bocchetti and team then go from there. Right now we’re calm,” he confessed.
“As for the team, I think they performed well in the last few games, I saw good performances. The matches against Juventus, Milan, and Roma showed a team that’s anything but dead.”
“They were willing to do whatever it took to overturn a difficult situation. Being so close and not getting a result perhaps hints at a lack of clarity.”
Adding, “I look forward to evaluating these players and looking them in the eye.”
