After a strong start to the season, 23 year-old Lecce midfielder Morten Hjulmand is drawing considerable interest from some of Serie A’s biggest sides.
Napoli and Roma are reportedly keen on the Dane as a future reinforcement. Although Hjulmand admittedly “has fallen in love with Lecce”, a move to the Premier League may also be possible.
“Right now my dream is to achieve salvation with Lecce,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport. “I’ve fallen in love with this city and the sea.”
“My fiancée Emilie and I, along with our dog Olau, are very happy here. I wanted to come to Serie A and play in this league.”
“Though I’m mad about the Premier League, I support Arsenal. Arteta has transformed everything at the club in just two years, the mentality included.”
“They play really, really good football now. There’s so much intensity in England, a lot more than Serie A, and you can see how many strong players are in the league and their quality.”
