Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio addressed several topics surrounding the squad, including the future of defender Milan Skriniar.
The former Sampdoria man’s contract expires in June but so far the two sides haven’t been able to reach an agreement on a new deal, increasing the possibility he could leave the club after five years.
“There’s always optimism,” Ausilio responded to Tuttomercatoweb when asked if he’s hopeful the 27 year-old will agree to a new contract.
“For anyone who does this job, you have to be optimistic. We’re negotiating and speaking—we’ve made an important offer to him but we need to give the lad and his entourage time to make the necessary reflections.”
Adding, “But what I can confirm is the level of professionalism Skriniar has and displays every day in training. He’s incredibly motivated and focused on Inter.”
“As far as the contract goes though there are people working on it.”
