Inter Miami, owned by Leo Messi, is reportedly eyeing a move for Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie, as per La Gazzetta dello Sport. McKennie, who is not in the plans of Juventus manager Thiago Motta, could be training separately at Continassa as he enters pre-season following his holiday. The American midfielder, who has turned down a move to Aston Villa, has just one year left on his contract at Juventus.
Despite interest from Bundesliga and Turkish clubs, including José Mourinho’s Fenerbahce, McKennie is said to be most enticed by the prospect of playing alongside stars like Messi, Luis Suarez, and Sergio Busquets. However, any potential move would require McKennie to take a pay cut. Since joining Juventus in 2020, McKennie spent the second half of the 2022-23 season on loan at Leeds United.
