Inter eyeing Federico Chiesa in potential swap deal with Juventus

IF24 Desk

Reports suggest that Inter is considering a shock swap deal involving midfielder Davide Frattesi in exchange for Juventus star Federico Chiesa.

Italian broadcaster Telelombarida has indicated that Inter may acquire the 26-year-old Chiesa this summer, along with €20 million, while sending Frattesi to Juventus.

Chiesa’s future at Juventus is uncertain as his current contract with the club expires next June. Contract extension talks have been ongoing for over a year, but an agreement has not been reached. Chiesa’s performance last season was deemed underwhelming, with ten goals scored across all competitions, and concerns about his impact on the field. Injuries have also been a recurring issue for the Italian international, affecting his playing time and consistency.

Juventus is open about their intention to offload Chiesa due to his contract situation, but finding a suitable buyer may prove challenging. While Roma has shown interest in Chiesa, their primary target seems to be Juventus youngster Matias Soule.

Inter Milan’s potential move for Chiesa comes as no surprise, given their history of signing high-profile players on free transfers. Chiesa could be available for free in a year, but reports suggest that Inter might make a move for him sooner. Telelombardia speculates that Juventus could be looking to offload Chiesa this summer to Inter in exchange for Frattesi, along with a €20 million fee.

The deal would benefit Inter financially, given Frattesi’s age, value, and contract situation.
