Luca Toni, a former Italy striker, shared his thoughts on the upcoming Serie A season, highlighting Juventus and Napoli as the main contenders challenging Inter Milan for the title.
Inter Milan dominated the Serie A last season, securing the Scudetto with five rounds to spare after defeating AC Milan in the Derby Della Madonnina. However, their rivals have been strengthening their squads in the summer transfer window to narrow the gap.
Juventus, under the management of Thiago Motta, has made significant signings like Michele Di Gregorio, Khephren Thuram, and Douglas Luiz. Meanwhile, Napoli, who finished ninth last season, appointed Antonio Conte as their new head coach, aiming for a comeback.
Toni emphasized the potential threat posed by Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic in the top goalscorer race, along with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. He also mentioned Alvaro Morata as a player to watch out for in the upcoming season.
The Serie A is set to begin on August 17th, with Inter Milan facing Genoa in their opening match. Luca Toni believes that Juventus and Napoli could provide stiff competition for Inter Milan in the race for the Serie A title.
