Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Italiano was all smiles after his team punched their place into the Coppa Italia semi-finals earlier today.
La Viola defeated Torino 2-1 at the Stadio Artemio Franchi thanks to goals from Luka Jović and Jonathan Ikone.
“I was glad to see Jović score. It’s especially nice to see a player get a goal after it seemed like they weren’t completely in the match,” Italiano told Sportmediaset.
“He did good to lose his marker and get a goal. But he can do even better, he needs to stay within the match better but he did what he asked of him: create and score goals.”
He added, “We’re working hard on the finishing issues we’ve had all season. Torino is always a tough side to face. Amrabat? He apologised to his teammates for not having kept his mind totally on this game.”
“The second everything was settled he came forward and gave his soul for Fiorentina even though he’s being sought after by all the top European clubs.”
