Perhaps hoping to lift the spirits of supporters following the team’s 2-0 defeat to Roma, Fiorentina announced midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura has penned a new deal with the club.
The 33 year-old has agreed to a new contract that will keep him at the club until June 2024 with an option to extend for an additional provided certain conditions are met.
The announcement will finally quell the mystery that was surrounding the veteran’s club future as his previous deal was due to expire in June.
Bonaventura, who originally joined the Tuscan side in September 2020, has been one of the few consistent performers for manager Vincenzo Italiano this season. He’s registered 3 goals and 1 assist in 15 league appearances during the 2022/23 campaign.
