Wolfsburg attacker Josip Brekalo is closing in on a return to Serie A after spending last season on loan at Torino.
The Croatian stunned the Granata last summer when he informed the club he didn’t want to remain permanently despite the club prepared to pay €11 million to make the deal permanent. He ultimately returned to Germany but couldn’t secure a place within the team this season.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fiorentina have taken advantage of the situation and are close to finalising a deal for the 24 year-old, who’s expected to arrive in Tuscany from Zagreb in the coming days.
