Juventus midfielder Fabio Miretti has sustained an injury during the team’s pre-season training, which will likely keep him out of action for several weeks.
The 20-year-old Italian international, who made his debut for the national team as a teenager in 2022, has suffered a compound fracture in his right foot. He is scheduled to undergo further evaluation in 15 days.
Juventus has confirmed that Miretti has undergone initial scans and tests at the club’s medical facility, JMedical, with a follow-up assessment planned in just over two weeks.
As a result of the injury, Miretti is expected to miss all of Juventus’s pre-season friendly matches, including fixtures against Brest and Atletico Madrid in the upcoming weekends. There are concerns that he may also be unavailable for the Serie A season opener against Como on August 19.
A statement on the club’s website regarding Miretti’s injury read, “Fabio Miretti underwent instrumental tests at JMedical this morning, July 29, following a conducive trauma to his right foot, which revealed a compound fracture of the third cuneiform bone. The player will undergo news tests in 15 days.”
