Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram has emphasized that his brother Marcus is the strongest member of their family, despite any claims to the contrary. The arrival of Khephren in Turin sets the stage for an intriguing sibling rivalry in the Derby d’Italia.
Marcus, the older brother, made a significant impact at Inter Milan after joining last summer, establishing himself as a key player under coach Simone Inzaghi. In following his father’s footsteps, Khephren decided to sign for Juventus, where their father, legendary French defender Lilian Thuram, had played between 2001 and 2006.
Although the brothers engaged in playful banter on social media following Khephren’s move to Juventus, they both hold each other in high regard. Marcus had initially suggested that his younger brother was stronger, but Khephren disagreed, praising Marcus as the standout in the family.
During his unveiling at Juventus, Khephren expressed his admiration for Marcus, stating, “Marcus says that I am stronger because he loves me deeply. But for me, he is stronger. I am very happy for my brother, he has now become a regular starter for the national team. For me, he is a role model, the best in the family.”
Khephren went on to commend Marcus for his skills as a striker, highlighting his goal-scoring abilities and playmaking qualities. He credited his father for influencing his decision to join Juventus, emphasizing the club’s status as the greatest in Italy and the world.
As the brothers prepare to face off in the upcoming season, Khephren acknowledged the potential for a competitive battle for the Scudetto, stating, “Did I challenge my brother for the Scudetto? The season hasn’t started yet, we’ll see how it goes.”
