Juventus have officially signed France international Khéphren Thuram from Nice in a deal worth €25 million. The 23-year-old midfielder was a target for top clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United, but he has chosen to join Juventus in Turin.
Nice will receive an initial €20 million for the transfer, with the potential to earn an extra €5 million through performance-related bonuses. Thuram has signed a five-year contract with Juventus, following in the footsteps of his father, Lilian Thuram.
Lilian Thuram, a legendary defender, played for Juventus for five years and even captained the team before moving to Barcelona in 2006. This transfer sets up a sibling rivalry in the Derby d’Italia, as Khéphren will now face off against his brother Marcus, who plays for Serie A champions Inter.
