New Juventus recruit Khephren Thuram was introduced in a press conference today, where he shared insights on his father’s advice, his early collaboration with Thiago Motta, and his aspirations in Turin.
The 23-year-old French midfielder made the switch from OGC Nice to the Bianconeri last month in a definitive deal valued at approximately €20m with an additional €5m in add-ons. He has signed a five-year contract worth €5m net per season plus bonuses.
Khephren Thuram is set to play a crucial role in Thiago Motta’s new Juventus project and is expected to partner with Teun Koopmeiners in midfield once the deal for the Atalanta star is finalized.
During his presentation press conference via TMW, Khephren Thuram expressed his satisfaction with his initial weeks at Juventus, stating, “The first week went very well. I work well with the group and with the coach. Everything is going very well here.”
He mentioned receiving advice from his father Lillian, who emphasized the significance of seizing every opportunity at Juventus, a club he considers the best in Italy and the world. Thuram expressed his pride in wearing the Juventus shirt, a childhood dream come true.
Reflecting on the negotiations between the two clubs, Thuram revealed, “Being here is a dream. I’ve always wanted to play for Juve since I was little, where many French players have passed, names of great prestige. I’m even more proud to be able to wear this shirt. So, every day I wake up and feel very lucky.”
Thuram also discussed his desire to win multiple Scudetti with Juventus, drawing inspiration from past French players at the club like Matuidi, Pogba, and his father. He acknowledged the influence of Thiago Motta’s appointment on his decision to join Juventus, praising Motta’s intelligence and defensive prowess as a player.
When asked about his preferred role on the pitch, Thuram mentioned his versatility and cited Paul Pogba and Patrick Vieira as his role models. He also spoke highly of his brother Marcus, considering him a role model and the best player in the family.
Thuram shared insights on his conversations with Thiago Motta, highlighting the coach’s intelligence and the advice he received. He emphasized his strengths on the field, including his ability to move the ball effectively and play aggressively.
