Teun Koopmeiners is currently refusing to participate in training with Atalanta as he is actively seeking a move to Juventus this month. The 26-year-old Dutch midfielder has been a top target for Juventus during the summer transfer window and has already reached an agreement with the club, signing a five-year contract worth approximately €4.5m per season.
Despite Koopmeiners’ willingness to join Juventus, a deal with Atalanta has not yet been finalized, as the club’s offer of around €55m has not convinced Atalanta. In a recent interview, Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini confirmed that Koopmeiners has an agreement with Juventus and is currently not participating in training sessions.
Following the advice of his agent Bart Baving, who recently arrived in Italy, Koopmeiners has provided Atalanta with a medical certificate citing health reasons, specifically stress, as the reason for his absence from training, as reported by Calciomercato.com. As a result, Koopmeiners has not trained with Atalanta for the past two days and will not be involved in their upcoming friendly match against St Pauli. There are also concerns about his availability for the upcoming UEFA Super Cup match against Real Madrid.
