Less than 24-hours after the sudden departure of Igor Tudor, Lazio have reportedly selected Verona manager Marco Baroni to become their new head coach.
According to calciomercato.it, Biancocelesti president Claudio Lotito moved quickly to secure a replacement after Tudor handed in his resignation late Wednesday. Baroni is expected to pen a two-year deal worth €1.6 million per season, and the official announcement is expected between tonight and tomorrow.
His arrival will undoubtedly have an impact of the team’s summer plans—tasked with making the most of the squad assembled by Lotito and sporting director Angelo Fabiani.
The club aren’t expected to make any big transfer market splashes this summer—a point of contention that ultimately led to Tudor’s decision to depart.
