Lazio turn to Luigi Sepe after abandoning talks for Hugo Lloris

Lazio have abandoned transfer talks for Tottenham Hotspurs shot-stopper Hugo Lloris.

The Biancocelesti were in negotiations to acquire to the veteran goalkeeper as an alternative option to Ivan Provedel. With just a year left on his contract, Spurs were open to allowing him to depart without a fee as a gesture of appreciation for his contributions to the club.

However, Fabrizio Romano reports Lloris won’t be moving to the Italian capital after Maurizio Sarri’s side couldn’t assure him of consistent playing time. With the Frenchman uninterested in a backup role, Lazio turned to other options and are nearing a deal for Salernitana goalkeeper Luigi Sepe.
