With just hours officially remaining on his contract with Roma, veteran fullback Leonardo Spinazzola is edging closer to joining Napoli.
The 31 year-old will leave the Italian capital after five seasons following the Giallorossi’s decision not to offer him a new contract—potentially paving the way for him to join Antonio Conte and the Partenopei on a free transfer.
Napoli opened talks with Spinazzola’s agent, Daniele Lippi, last week regarding a deal. While progress has been made between the sides, Sky Sport reports they still haven’t reached an agreement due to a gap between his wage request and the club’s offer.
Nonetheless, they’ll continue discussions over the coming days and hope to finalise an agreement sometime next week.
