Liverpool-targeted wonderkid Dean Huijsen close to PSG transfer deal.

Liverpool are on the verge of missing out on signing wonderkid center-back Dean Huijsen as Paris Saint Germain is closing in on securing a deal for him. The Reds have been eyeing the 19-year-old player, who hails from the Netherlands and impressed in Serie A last season.

Huijsen, who represented Spain at the under-21 level, is a product of the Juventus academy but spent the previous season on loan at Roma. Despite Liverpool’s interest in him, it seems that PSG is now in pole position to land his signature.

The young defender, who stands at 6’4, showcased his talent during the last season, making 14 appearances in Serie A and contributing with two goals and an assist. His performances caught the attention of several top clubs across Europe, including Liverpool, but it looks like he is leaning towards a move to France.

Reports suggest that PSG is preparing a new offer for Huijsen, and the player is eager to join the Champions League semi-finalists. This development means that Liverpool might miss out on another defensive target, as they are looking to bolster their backline following Joel Matip’s departure.

While Huijsen’s versatility to play on either side of the central defense would have been an asset, his lack of senior experience could have been a risk for Liverpool. Additionally, the financial aspect could have played a role, with PSG likely able to offer a higher wage than the Reds.

Liverpool has been linked with various central defenders this summer, but it remains to be seen if they will bring in a new player before the transfer window closes. Despite the potential setback of missing out on Huijsen, Liverpool will continue their search for defensive reinforcements as they aim to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
