Man Utd considers signing Federico Chiesa as Juventus offers swap deal

Juventus has offered Manchester United the opportunity to acquire attacking midfielder Federico Chiesa this summer. Manager Erik ten Hag is currently contemplating this proposal, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Fabiana della Valle. Despite ongoing speculation linking Chiesa to United, no concrete developments have materialized thus far.

New Juventus manager Thiago Motta does not view Chiesa as a key player for his squad and is willing to part ways with him before the start of the 2024-25 season. With Jadon Sancho not featuring in their plans, Manchester United could potentially provide a solution, as the Italian international is a target for the Old Lady.

However, Juventus can only acquire Chiesa on loan due to financial constraints or through a player swap deal. Chiesa showcased his talent during the European Championship, featuring prominently for Italy before they were eliminated by Switzerland in the last 16. He concluded the 2023-24 season with ten goals and three assists in 37 appearances across all competitions.

Securing Chiesa would be a significant addition for Manchester United, but Erik ten Hag must make a decision on whether to pursue him. Although the Dutchman has already secured the services of Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee, he is still looking to strengthen his attacking options, with Chiesa fitting the profile of player he desires.
