Former Inter defender Marco Materazzi discussed his former club’s upcoming Champions League showdown this evening against Porto.

The Nerazzurri face the Portuguese giants for the second leg of their tie, holding a narrow 1-0 aggregate lead before kick-off.

“Inter must win tonight and continue their journey in Europe,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“This is a competition composed of huge match, if they’re able to progress then anything can happen. However, they can’t have anymore ups and downs.”

He added, “From here on out, every game has to be like a final, not only in the Champions League but even Serie A.”

“Inter need to finish in the top four and failing to do so would damage both their image and financial status.”
