Olivier Giroud’s strike midway through the second half proved just enough for Milan, who won 1-0 this evening versus Torino.
The win snapped the Rossoneri’s seven-match winless run and earned them their first victory since January 4th. The hosts were led by superb performances from Giroud and fellow French international Theo Hernandez, who caused several problems for Ivan Juric’s men throughout the clash.
“These are three huge points,” the defender told DAZN at full time.
“We were coming off a stretch of games where it seemed like we didn’t know how to play well, thankfully now we can move onward.”
He continued, “In my opinion, it’s more of a mental issue when you go winless for such a long period. We’re a strong team, we stayed united and have the supporters alongside us, too.”
“I’m happy for Olivier, he was missing a goal and I’m glad he got one. How am I? Admittedly, morale was low after the World Cup but I think I’m getting back to my best.”
