Earlier this afternoon, Milan met with Enzo Raiola, the agent of midfielder Ismael Bennacer, to begin discussions regarding a contract renewal.
The 25 year-old has only eighteen months remaining on his current deal and has garnered transfer interest from the Premier League. However, calciomercato.com reports Bennacer’s preference is to extend his stay in Milano.
The two parties met today at Casa Milan for the first of what is expected to be several meetings.
Although no agreement is in place, the midfielder is reportedly asking to be paid a wage similar to Theo Hernandez, whose deal nets him around €4.5 million per season.
