Inter weren’t unable to follow-up their tremendous mid-week win over Napoli with another, suffering a 2-2 draw at the hands of Monza.

Former Nerazzurri defender Luca Caldirola found the back of the net with a towering header that skimmed off Denzel Dumfries, who was charged with the own goal.

As for Inter, manager Simone Inzaghi wasn’t pleased with the refereeing display and asserted they got it wrong when they had a Francesco Acerbi headed goal chalked off.

“We’re incredibly angry because there was a clear mistake,” he told Sky Sport.

“After five years of VAR, a foul was given when two players from Monza got caught up between one another.”

“Add to that Lautaro hitting the post and we would’ve had a 3-1 lead. Instead we’re here discussing a draw that comes from a serious mistake.”
