It was the Paulo Dybala show again tonight in the Italian capital as Roma defeated Genoa 1-0 in the Coppa Italia.
The Argentine’s world class second-half goal fired Jose Mourinho’s side into the quarterfinals of the competition where they await the winner of Napoli-Cremonese.
“Roma always give their best as a team, that’s why I care for the guys and hold them dear. I learned as a kid, and I’ll be 60 next week, that when you give it your all, nothing more can be done,” the Special One told Sportmediaset.
“I wanted to avoid extra time at all costs tonight. There was the opportunity to bring on one of the younger players such as Volpato or Tahirovic but I opted for Paulo instead.”
Finally, “He’s the kind of player that makes both the team and the manager look good. He’s got a different scent to him, a player who’s on another level.”
The goal marked Dybala’s eighth of the season in all competitions.
