Napoli manager Rudi Garcia stated his team is ready for the season ahead as they officially begin their title defence tomorrow.
The Partenopei kick-off their 2023/24 campaign against newly promoted Frosinone at the Stadio Benito Stirpe. The match features a pair of former AS Roma managers in Garcia and Eusebio Di Francesco—both of whom will be making their club debuts.
“We can’t wait to get on the pitch tomorrow. Now the real competition begins and we’re facing a difficult opponent who’s filled with enthusiasm following their promotion,” said the Frenchman.
“As for us, we’re not the favorite to win the title but we’re certainly among the contenders. In all the big European leagues, the favorite doesn’t always win.”
“There are other teams that have had massive transfer windows but everyone still starts with zero points. Our squad is almost the exact same as last season apart from Kim.”
Adding, “From my view, this is a fundamental aspect, being able to bet on players who already know some dynamics. Ever since I arrived here I’ve found a group filled with good lads who have a lot of talent.”
“They’re always attentive and more concerned about the good of the team, not the individual. There’s no excuses, we’ll be ready tomorrow.”
