Napoli returned to winning ways following last weekend’s defeat to Lazio by defeating Atalanta today 2-0 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Two second half goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Amir Rrahmani were all Luciano Spalletti’s men needed to extend La Dea’s winless streak to four consecutive league matches.

Once again, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men struggled to create any high quality goalscoring opportunities despite Duvan Zapata’s return to the fold.

“Both defences controlled the game tonight,” began Gasperini. “Even Napoli didn’t create a ton of shots.”

“The individual skill from Kvaratskhelia changed the game. We could’ve done better on the counter but individually I saw some good performances tonight.”

He continued, “I saw a good spirit that can help us for the remainder of the season. In addition, we recovered some players such as Zapata.”

“What I saw tonight was the usual DNA of Atalanta, we our attitude on the pitch was spot on.”
