The Napoli coaching saga is heating up amidst the club’s disappointment in the early spell of Rudi Garcia.

Fresh off their Scudetto success, Napoli have been underwhelming in the early part of the season—leading to doubts surrounding Garcia’s position at the club. Partenopei president Aurelio De Laurentiis met with the Frenchman and his staff on Monday and appeared ready to give them more time to right the ship.

However, calciomercato.it reports De Laurentiis made a “u-turn” in subsequent hours, keen to bring in a world-class manager capable of getting the defending champions back on track.

Although Conte is interested in the job, he still hasn’t said “yes” to joining the Partenopei and the club is still unsure what sort of proposal he’s willing to accept. The former Inter boss is currently in Torino after participating in the “Together, a Black & White Show” event on Monday evening.
