Napoli interested in Hellas Verona midfielder Ivan Ilić

Sitting at the top of the Serie A table, Napoli intend to strengthen the team in January in the hopes of securing their first league title since 1990.

According to calciomercato.com, one of the names the Partenopei are evaluating as a potential reinforcement is Hellas Verona midfielder Ivan Ilić.

After spending the 2020/21 season at Verona on loan, the 21 year-old joined the club permanently from Manchester City last summer in a deal worth €10 million. The English giants also possess a 10% sell-on clause for the Serbian in the event he’s sold by the Venetian side.

Reportedly, Verona won’t consider selling Ilić for any less than €20 million but Napoli could try to lower the cash amount by inserting young winger Alessio Zerbin into the deal.
