Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski reflected on last night’s 1-0 home defeat against Lazio, their second league defeat of the season.
A stunning goal from Matias Vecino doomed the Partenopei and secured an incredible upset victory for Maurizio Sarri’s men in Naples.
“We’ve come away feeling very disappointed and disheartened because we wanted to keep winning,” the Polish international told the club’s website.
“We didn’t manage to find the back of the net despite all the pressure we put them under, especially in the second half. We lacked composure in the final third and it cost us dearly.”
Adding, “We’re disappointed. Obviously, the mood wasn’t good but we are ready to get going again because we’re having an extraordinary season.”
“Losing hurts but it doesn’t mean anything compared to the work the team have done so far this season. We need to stay focused and concentrate on Atalanta, who are great and very tough opponents.”
