The agent of Fiorentina attacker Nico Gonzalez revealed some behind-the-scenes details about the transfer interest surrounding the 26 year-old.
Speaking at the MINI Padel Summer Cup in southern Sardegna, Alessandro Moggi divulged that La Viola turned down a huge offer for the Argentine international, who has drawn considerable interest throughout Europe.
“Nico’s future? He renewed his contract with Fiorentina last year towards the end of the summer transfer window,” he told Sky Sport.
“In fact, Fiorentina turned down a very important offer [for him] from the Premier League that was worth around €42 million.”
The news sheds light on the high value placed on the attacker by both his current club and potential suitors from abroad. Given Fiorentina’s recent managerial switch and appointment of Raffaele Palladino, they’ll likely do everything they can to keep a hold him for next season.
