Former Roma, Leicester City, and Sampdoria manager Claudio Ranieri has officially been appointed by Serie B side Cagliari.
The 70 year-old has penned an 18-months deal until 30 June 2025 with the Sardinian side, replacing the recently sacked Fabio Liverani.
It marks Ranieri’s return to the club after thirty years when he managed the team for three seasons from 1988 thru 1991.
The veteran last coached in the Premier League with Watford before being ousted last January after five months in charge. He’ll take charge of his first match on Monday when Cagliari travel to Calabria to face 19th placed Cosenza.
