Cagliari and Claudio Ranieri have finalised their first major acquisition of the summer following their promotion from Serie B.
The Sardinians have acquired Uzbekistan international Eldor Shomurodov from Roma on initial loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season. The option to make the deal permanent is worth €10 million in total.
The transfer marks Shomurodov’s second consecutive loan deal after he spent the second half of last season with Spezia. Following their relegation, he was in search for a new club given his situation with the Giallorossi remained unchanged once he fell out of the pecking order of Jose Mourinho.
