Eusebio Di Francesco is officially back on the bench after being out of football for nearly two full years.
The former Sassuolo, Roma, and Cagliari boss was officially appointed as the new head coach of Frosinone, signing a one-year contract that automatically renews for an additional season should the team avoid relegation.
He replaces Fabio Grosso after the latter opted against remaining with the club despite leading the club to promotion.
It’s been a turbulent half-decade for Di Francesco after he guided Roma to the Champions League semi-final in April 2018. He was sacked by the capital club less than one year later but was quickly appointed by Sampdoria two months later.
However, his time with the Ligurians didn’t last long and he was sacked after just eight games in charge. It went from bad to worse in his next two jobs with Cagliari and Hellas Verona, respectively, where he earned a combined record of 5 wins, 6 draws, and 19 defeats.
