World Cup winner and former Frosinone manager Fabio Grosso has been named the new manager of Lyon.
The Ligue 1 side announced the Italian has officially replaced Laurent Blanc, who left the club earlier this week by mutual consent. Grosso will be in attendance at the match against Le Havre this Sunday evening at Groupama Stadium, before being introduced to the media on Monday.
The deal marks Grosso’s returns to the Ligue 1 side where he played two seasons from 2007 until 2009, appearing in 78 games across all competitions.
He returns to the bench after he left Frosinone this summer after guiding the club to promotion back into Serie A.
