Inter midfielder Nicolò Barella has officially penned a new long-term deal with the reigning league champions.
The Nerazzurri announced this evening that the 27 year-old Italian international has signed a new contract thru until 30 June 2029—extending his stay in Milano. After initially arriving on loan in 2019, Barella has collected 22 goals and 51 assists in 235 total appearances for the club, quickly establishing himself as one of the team’s most important pieces.
“Today I am extremely happy and emotional for having extended my deal with Inter for several years,” he told the club’s website.
“I have never had any doubts: I believe in this project and, most of all, I wanted to sign before the European tournament. I am truly proud to be able to keep fighting for the colors of this great club for years to come.”
Barella continued, “My wish is to continue on the successful journey that the squad and Coach have experienced in recent years. We want to keep growing and bring more joy to our fans. We have had unforgettable moments with them and I am sure there will be many more.”
“I can’t wait to get started again in front of all the Nerazzurri supporters and we’re all together again for Inter.”
