After a turbulent four years, defender Mattia Caldara confessed he hopes his loan at Spezia from Milan will be made permanent.

The 28 year-old joined Luca Gotti’s in July, marking his third consecutive loan spell away from the Rossoneri. After failing to make an impact in Milano, Caldara admits he’s keen to remain with Spezia beyond the expiration of his loan deal.

“The supporters are making me feel like an integral part of the city,” he told La Nazione.

“I love how calm things are, you can breathe-in the serenity while taking in the beauty of the landscapes and the sea.”

He continued, “I feel really good and I enjoy being here. As far as on the pitch, I’ve been able to put the physical problems behind me.”

“I want to ensure we avoid relegation and hope to be redeemed permanently by the club so that I can begin an important cycle.”
