There’s been a major shakeup at AC Milan with two of the club’s top executives set to leave the club.
Less than three days after securing Champions League qualification by finishing fourth in the table, the Rossoneri announced the departure of technical director and club legend Paolo Maldini—ending his five-year stint within the club’s senior leadership.
“AC Milan announces that Paolo Maldini concludes his role at the Club, effective as of June 5, 2023,” wrote the club on their official website.
“We thank him for his years of service in the role, contributing to the return to the Champions League and to winning the Scudetto in 2021/22. His day-to-day duties will be performed by a team working in close integration with the first team manager, ultimately reporting to the CEO.”
Sporting director Ricky Massara, 54, is widely expected to follow Maldini out the exit door, which would end his four-year tenure with the Rossoneri.
