For just the second time in four months, Milan won their second league match in a row, defeating Monza by a score of 1-0.
A late first half goal from Junior Messias proved enough for the Rossoneri to build on last weekend’s win against Torino after going winless in their prior five league clashes.
“It’s been nice to see us defend as a team, this is how it has to be done,” manager Stefano Pioli told DAZN at full time.
“We could’ve done much better, especially in the second half, but Monza did well after the break. It’s been a taxing week for us but a win like this proves we can achieve a lot by working together.”
He continued, “We played well in the first half but after we struggled to overcome their pressure. Certainly this victory will give us the confidence to stay on this track.”
