The arrival of the international break has prompted Salernitana to take a serious look at their managerial situation given the team’s poor start to the season.
Multiple outlets report Paulo Sousa could be on his way out after the team collected only three points in their first eight league fixtures. They currently sit 19th in the Serie A table, just one point ahead of last-placed Cagliari.
Relations between Sousa and Salernitana have been rocky since the summer after it was revealed he met with Napoli following the departure of Luciano Spalletti. The lack of early results has exacerbated the tension and now the club are considering alternatives.
According to Corriere dello Sport, former Bologna, Venezia, and Benevento manager Pippo Inzaghi is the primary candidate to replace Sousa.
