Franck Ribery is set to remain at Salernitana after question marks surrounding his future arose following the dismissal of manager Davide Nicola.

The 39 year-old joined Nicola’s staff in late October after he announced his retirement from playing and quickly became an integral part of his coaching set-up.

However, the club opted for a managerial switch following the team’s 1-0 defeat to Hellas Verona and are expected to announce the appointment of former Fiorentina and Flamengo manager Paulo Sousa as Nicola’s successor.

Despite the switch, TuttoSalernitana.com reports both Ribery and goalkeeper coach Michelangelo Rampulla will remain with the club and join Sousa’s staff once his arrival is made official.
