Salernitana captain and ex-Roma man Federico Fazio admitted he was thrilled by his go-ahead goal in the team’s 3-1 upset of Lazio in Rome.

Davide Nicola’s men defeated the Biancocelesti at the Stadio Olimpico thanks to three second half goals within the span of 25 minutes.

“I am happy to have helped the team with my goal,” Fazio told DAZN at full-time.

“I have played for many years here in Rome and playing at the Olimpico is like returning home for me. I am very happy with tonight’s performance.”

“I have played many games here and coming back brings back many memories. But I’m very happy for the team, we did well the first forty minutes and lost a bit of confidence after we conceded the goal before half time.”

Finally, “However, we tried to play our game and get forward in the second half. Thankfully we got into attacking positions and the goals arrived.”
