Salernitana sporting director Morgan De Sanctis presented new manager Paulo Sousa to the media today following his appointment yesterday.
The Campania side appointed the former Fiorentina, Poland national team, and Flamengo boss to replace Davide Nicola, who was sacked following Monday’s defeat against Hellas Verona.
“On behalf of the club, we’re pleased to welcome Paulo Sousa. He’s a manager with massive experience and an international profile,” began De Sanctis.
“All of us, including the president, are convinced he can make an important contribution and that from now until the end of the season we’ll all be hugely satisfied.”
Adding, “We want to reach salvation and avoid relegation as soon as possible.”
Sousa will officially take charge in his first match tomorrow when Salernitana host Lazio at the Stadio Arechi.
