Salernitana are ready to make a coaching switch following yesterday’s 1-0 defeat to Hellas Verona at the Stadio Bentegodi.

Multiple outlets including Sky Sport and La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported the club will announce the dismissal of manager Davide Nicole in the coming hours, ending the 49 year-old’s one year stint.

Salernitana are reportedly targeting former Fiorentina and Poland national team manager Paulo Sousa as his successor, potentially marking his return to Serie A after five years.

The former Juventus and Borussia Dortmund midfielder most recently coached in Brazil with Flamengo but was sacked by the club in June after just six months in charge.
