Hellas Verona have reached a long term agreement with newly appointed manager Salvatore Bocchetti.

The Venetian side announced this afternoon that the former central defender has penned a five-year deal which runs until 2027.

The news comes barely a week after Bocchetti replaced former boss Gabriele Cioffi, who was sacked after winning just 1 match through the team’s first 9 league games.

It’s the first managerial role for Bocchetti following his retirement from playing in 2021. He officially made his debut this past weekend against one of his former clubs, AC Milan.

Verona nearly pulled off an upset against the defending Scudetto champions this past Sunday with things level 1-1 heading into the final ten minutes.

However, Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali scored in the 81st minute, securing a late win for the Rossoneri.
