Sampdoria loanee Harry Winks shed light on his recent return from an ankle injury and the Blucerchiati’s chances of avoiding relegation.
The Englishman made his debut for the club last month following a five-months long injury layoff. Since returning, Winks has won a first-choice place in Dejan Stanković’s midfield, quickly emerging as one of the team’s most crucial players.
“It was a huge relief to finally be able to step on to the pitch,” he told La Repubblica.
“As a team, we’ve played well in our last few games. There were a few unfortunate refereeing decisions but we created a lot of scoring opportunities and played as a team.”
Finally, “Now we have to get a win and give ourselves a lift in confidence.”
