Late this evening, Sampdoria announced the departure of team captain and club legend Fabio Quagliarella after nine seasons.
The Ligurians will be without the 40 year-old this season in Serie B after they decided not to renew his contract for the upcoming campaign. His deal originally expired June 30th but the veteran hinted at his desire to help the club secure promotion back to Serie A.
Nonetheless, the Blucerchiati preferred to move forward without the veteran, publishing a statement thanking the striker for his contributions.
Quagliarella ends his time at Samp with 106 goals and 27 assists in 293 appearances across all competitions.
